MoE: “Schools were given everything necessary for safe return of students and teachers”

The Ministry of Education has delivered to every school all that is necessary to ensure that health protocols are properly adhered to.

This is according to Minister of Education Nyan Gadsby Dolly.

She was responding to concerns articulated by various stakeholders including TTUTA that schools were not adequately outfitted with what is necessary to protect students and staff who are back out to physical schooling.

She was speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital this morning.

She said issues with social distancing also highlighted as a concern is really up to the various principals.

The Education Minister said that there are still structural issues with some schools however work on them are ongoing and sufficient work has been done to house students at this time.

She said priority is therefore placed on electrical, plumbing and sewage to ensure that the schools can functional which is an ongoing process since there will always be schools that need more.
