Missing teen Kadysha Charles found safe

Officers of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) found missing teen Kadysha Charles yesterday.

On Friday, 1st November 2019, a report was made by a female relative of teenager to the San Juan Police Station, that she received a phone call from an unknown number and heard Kadysha crying and saying that three men had her at an unknown location.

The relative told police that she then heard a male voice saying that he would call back in one hour. The alleged kidnappers subsequently called demanding a ransom of thirty thousand ($30,000.00) TTD for Kadysha’s safe release.

SORT officers acting on intelligence, went to the Auzonville Mall, Tunapuna at around 3:45 pm yesterday, where surveillance was conducted and Kadysha aged 18 was discovered in the bathroom of the mall changing her clothes.

SORT officers took Kadysha, who appeared to be unharmed, away from the area where she was found and handed her over to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit. No ransom was paid.

She is presently assisting police with investigations as suspects are known to police and arrests are imminent.
