Police are searching for a mentally ill man, who physically attacked a female relative last evening.
The 62-year-old woman, who is now warded in a serious condition at the San Fernando General Hospital, told police that just after 7pm last night, she was at her St Andrew’s Village home, when the male relative came in and attacked her.
She said the man hit her with a mop handle and threw a wardrobe on top of her.
Other relatives responded and the victim was taken for medical treatment where it was discovered that she also had a punctured left lung.
Investigators suspect she had been stabbed in the ordeal.
