Man tells police he broke curfew because gunmen were chasing him

A Sangre Grande man who was held by police for breaking the curfew claimed he was running for his life after two men tried to kill him.

The 23-year-old man told police he was at his home in Hibiscus Drive when two masked men attempted to forcefully enter his house.

The men reportedly began shooting at him but he escaped by running out of his home and through a few of his neighbours’ yards.

Police investigating his claims wen to the scene where they discovered 19 spent shells.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
