Starlite Pharmacy boss accused of racism again

Starlite Pharmacy is under the radar again, this time an ex-employee made a post which went viral about the work she endured as a new employee and the company’s CEO.

The young lady made a Facebook post generalizing her first four days on the job, saying that she signed up and was hired as a CSR but was sent to the company’s warehouse to clean and pack stock.

When she enquired about the position and what she would be paid she was not given any information on her salary and the position she got hired for.

She also accused the company’s CEO Jared Aboud of being racists, as other employees told her he prefers female workers who are of a certain skin tone and weight.

In a now deleted post see below for the statement made by the former employee.

“So let me highlight starlite pharmacy for uall. I applied for a job there via email, they called for a interview I went it was successful I guess because they called me back for a second interview they said that they would contact me on when I am starting mind you both interviews I asked about salary and the human resources or the manager told me they are not allowed to give me that information as they do not know but they said it was more than the average minimum wage I said okay. They called me to start work on the 1st of May, I was probably well dressed in my office attire when I reach is because the store still under renovations and they called us to clean up the mess while the contractors was still working. I said okay let me stick it out I cleaned for 3 days on the 4th day I got a call to go to the warehouse and work at 11:45 when I thought I had the day off because no one contacted me the night before anyways I didn’t go that day when I went at the warehouse on the 5th day while working with a few of the other girls that they sent to the warehouse also a conversation came up saying that they sent all the thick girls to the warehouse because the boss said he don’t want no fat people working in his store and he only want skinny highcoloured people in the stores. Mind you we never signed up to work nowhere else other than a cashier or a csr at the new east gates location, my thing is why uall didn’t say that from the start of the first interview, why do two interviews plus make us come for a week and clean up the store then after to throw us in the warehouse because we are not what you want in the store. I would never encourage anyone to shop at starlite that is owned by Jared Aboud or apply for a job there because he don’t like black fat people. To top it off they are very unprofessional when coming to the workers you literally have to call or text the human resource or the manager to find out when you working sometimes they would text you after 10 in the night to come to work the next day for 8am like really and up to now they can’t tell us our salary or even give us any information about it and it’s going on 3weeks now even after most of us left the work.”
