A 36-year-old man was shot and killed in Belmont on Friday night.
Reports state that Akanni Luke was seated in a car in an area known as Chinatown off the St Francois Valley Road, Belmont when he was shot.
The victim was inside a taxi on his way home when the car stopped along St. Francois Valley Road in Belmont and two occupants of another car emerged.
The suspects approached the back of the car where Akanni was seated and opened fire on him.
After he was shot, Akanni was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital by the driver but he was declared dead.
Three other passengers, including a 5-year-old boy, were not harmed during the shooting.
Investigations are continuing into the incident.
