A man identified as McKai Burton, was shot and killed in Belmont during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police officers responded to a report of explosions at St John Trace, St Barbs around 2am and while making their checks observed a man lying on the roadway with what appeared to gunshot wounds.
Burton, also known as Boysie, was a resident of the St Barbs area.
Enquiries are continuing.
