Mere moments after being released from the Port of Spain jail on Tuesday afternoon, a man was shot at by a lone gunman.
The incident occurred at around 4pm in the vicinity of the Port of Spain General hospital,
Officers of the POS Task Force and IATF responded and made checks for the suspect and saw him running along Observatory Street.
The suspect was then seen throwing an object away before making his escape.
Officers retrieved the object, which turned out to be a loaded semi-automatic pistol.
The victim escaped injury.
