Members of the public have been told to be on the lookout for bogus $100 bills.
According to the TTPS, the fake blue notes have been circulating in Sangre Grande and environs.
There have been reports of a scam involving the fake $100 notes in the community.
Fraud Squad detectives have been alerted and are continuing investigations.
Police noted that the Christmas season is approaching and appealed to citizens and the business community to be cautious when doing transactions involving the bills.
They said the fake bills currently being circulated are made from the same polymer material as the legal bills and is very difficult to detect.
