Police are trying to identify the man, who was killed in an accident in Cocorite early this morning.
Around 5am, drivers observed the body of a man lying along the westbound lane of the Audrey Jeffers Highway, just before the foreshore lookout and notified police.
Officers from the Western Division responded and the body was viewed by a district medical officer and ordered removed from the scene.
Investigators suspect that the victim may have been killed in a hit-and-run accident.
