Man dead, brother wounded in La Horquetta shooting

One man is dead and his brother wounded during a shooting incident on Sunday night in La Horquetta.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Brent Seunarinesingh of #625 Phase 7, La Horquetta.

The wounded man is Brent’s older brother, 33-year-old Brandon Seunarinesingh.

Police reports say at 11:30 pm the deceased and the victim were sitting in the gallery of a house when two men approached them and opened fire.

The gunmen then escaped in a silver Nissan Tiida.

Both men were seen lying on the road and were subsequently taken to the Arima Hospital by a neighbour. Brent was pronounced dead at 12:12 am on Monday whilst undergoing surgery.

Brandon was taken for emergency surgery and was later listed in a stable but critical condition. He was subsequently transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex for further medical attention.

Brent was shot in the right hip/thigh and buttock cheek and Brandon was shot in the face.

A total of 18 spent 5.56 shells, 22 spent 9mm shells were recovered at the scene.
