Man and woman injured after car hit then riddled with bullets in La Romaine

Southern Division police are investigating the wounding of a man and woman in La Romaine on Thursday night, after the vehicle they were travelling in was rammed and then riddled with bullets.

Around 10:30pm, Bernard Machand, 29, of South Oropouche, and Murrier Toney, 28, of La Brea, were in a silver Corolla NZE heading west along the Southern Main Road, when a white AD Wagon slammed into their vehicle.

An occupant of the wagon exited the car and then opened fire on the Corolla.

Machand suffered injuries to his right forearm, while Toney sustained injuries to her upper back. Both victims currently are warded at the San Fernando General Hospital.
