Man, 51, charged for sexual penetration of a female minor

A 51-year-old Valencia man was granted bail when he appeared before a Sangre Grande Magistrate last week, charged with one
count of sexual penetration against a female minor, which occurred in March 2019.

The accused appeared before Magistrate Dubay in the Sangre Grande First Magistrates’ Court on Friday 19th February, 2021, to
answer to the charge.

A TTPS reports states that he was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 – $20,000 cash bail and $80,000 bail with a surety and ordered to stay away from the victim.

The victim, according to the report told her mother that in March 2019, she was sexually assaulted by a man.

A report was made to the police and an investigation launched by officers of the Eastern Division Child Protection Unit (ED-CPU).

The man subsequently gave himself up to officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station on Friday 19th February, 2021 and was charged on that same date by WPC La Fortune of the ED-CPU.
