Laventille man shot in the chest

A 32-year-old man has miraculously survived being shot in the chest and is now warded in a stable condition at hospital.

The shooting stems from an incident in Morvant on Friday night.

Reports are that the man, who hails from Laventille, was driving his Nissan Almera on Trou Macaque Extension, Morvant, at around 9pm, when he was forced to stop as a large piece of wood was blocking the road.

When he tried to reverse, he was confronted by two men, one of whom raised a gun and shot him in the chest.
The suspects then ran away.

The man was rushed to hospital by a witness.
Besson Street police are continuing enquiries.
