Lack Of Job Opportunities Does Nothing For Economy Already Under Strain, Opposition Leader Says.

There is a claim from Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad Bissessar, that job creation opportunities are becoming less in Trinidad and Tobago and this situation does not give a boost to an economy under strain.

The country’s Gross Domestic Product, Mrs. Persad Bissessar said, is on the decline, unemployment is on the rise, access to foreign reserves continues to pose a challenge for many citizens and businesses and foreign direct investment is not impressive.

These were some of the areas, Mrs. Persad Bissessar elaborated on during her Budget Response in the House of Representatives Friday afternoon.

The Property Tax was another subject the Opposition Leader commented on, adding that the timing of such a venture is not good.
