Intensive Care Unit at the General Hospital in Tobago is over capacity

The Intensive Care Unit at the General Hospital in Tobago is over capacity and this is a source of worry for health officials.
Tobago is at 52% of its vaccination target, however the division of Health and Wellness is seeking to get the island to 70% herd immunity.
The Division has sounded the alarm in the face of rising Covid cases according to County Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) for Tobago Dr Tiffany Hoyte.
Hoyte was giving an update on the island’s covid19 status on Thursday during the virtual weekly news conference hosted by the THA Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development.
She said the island now has 423 active covid19 cases after six new cases were reported overnight on Wednesday.
