Fmr PSC member bashes Police Commissioner after JSC snub

Former PSC member, Martin George has issued a scathing comment on the failure of Acting Commissioner of Police, Erla Christopher to appear before yesterday’s Joint Select Committee Meeting.

Christopher failed to appear at a National Security JSC yesterday citing a need to attend to urgent matters of national security as the reason.

However, former PSC member, Martin George says this is not good enough.

He told News Power Now that there are only two possible national security matters which should trump a JSC.

These he said included a National Security Council meetign or if the Police Service Commission summoned her to an urgent meeting.

He added that while her decision not to attend may not have a lasting impression on the members of the JSC, it does not create the best first impression.
