4-year-old girl drowns in Trincity pool

A four-year-old girl from Williamsville drowned in a pool in Trincity on Wednesday.

Mafer Valentina Guevaro of Carlos Street, Williamsville, was with her mother Andrea Medina visiting a friend in East Gate, Trincity, when they all went for a dip in the pool.

Reports state that the three exited the pool about 6 pm and went indoors.

A short while later, the child asked her mother to use the bathroom, and she went.
When she didn’t return after 5 minutes, the mother and her friend went in search of the child and found her at the bottom of the pool.

The adults entered the water and pulled her out, however, she was unresponsive.

The paramedics were notified and the four-year-old was rushed to Medical Associates in St Joseph.

Several attempts were made to resuscitate her by medical staff, but despite their best efforts, she was pronounced dead at 7:37 p.m. that day.
