Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, says the Service will be intensifying its monitoring of institutions which take care of the elderly and children.
Speaking at a news briefing this afternoon, Commissioner Griffith said the TTPS will continue to maintain a zero tolerance stance towards the abuse of the vulnerable in society.
Former Director of the Division of Ageing in the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services, Dr Jennifer Rouse said she is concerned about incidents where the elderly are taken advantage of.
Meanwhile, Assistant Special Agent in Charge (Retired) at the Los Angeles Field Office Criminal Division, Robert Clarke, said that from monitoring done in this country on human trafficking activities, it was found that some legitimate establishments are involved in the illegal practice.
