The Housing Development Corporation has assumed the role of WASA and is assisting its tenants with access to running water. Since April, tenants at 24 apartment at the Nelson Street housing development have been without water. Residents had called on WASA and HDC to assist to no avail. HDC has finally come to their rescue and began working on the problem over the weekend.
Reports indicate that HDC began the initial works to supply water and will call in WASA to complete inspection, and assess the work when it is completed.
