Sixty -Eight Pregnant Women Contract COVID-19 In One Week Locally.

A drastic increase in the number of pregnant women contracting COVID-19 has been noticed by health officials in Trinidad and Tobago.

A week ago the number stood at three hundred and fifteen.

However, Director of Women’s Health, Dr Adesh Sirjusingh, says recent data indicate the figure has moved to three hundred and eighty-three.

Dr Sirjusingh describes the development as very alarming while speaking at the Ministry of Health Virtual News briefing Wednesday.

Dr Sirjusingh said at present more than one and fifty women have been inoculated with the jab.
