There is a suggestion the government consider holding discussions with up streamers in the energy sector to get their input on deep water exploration and capital expenditure which is a major investment decision.
The proposal was put forward from economist, Dr Vaalmiki Arjoon, while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital, Wednesday morning.
Dr Arjoon is remaining confident such deliberations can bring about significant results and gave a better sense of how the country can satisfy gas production demand.
The economist admitted he is not sure if such discussions were held in the past but noted the importance of it adding it can gauge a focused way moving forward.
Dr Arjoon said he has been in contact with people in Chaguanas and he has heard about concern on the cap placed on fuel subsidy.
