Ensuring Engergy Sector Foreign Investors Remain In T&T, Vital, Says Former Finance Minister

All should be done to ensure foreign investors in the energy sector, locally, are encouraged to continue doing business in Trinidad and Tobago.

It a point highlighted by former finance minister, Karen Nunez Tesheria, while speaking during the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital. Wednesday.

Mrs Nunez Tesheria cited the increase in the supplemental petroleum tax for onshore and shallow bids.

However, the former government minister said the foreign investors are closing monitoring developments internationally and are also under pressure from their shareholders.

The volatile nature of the price of oil and gas was also focused upon by the former finance minister and the implications of such were also reviewed.
