A police officer was injured in an early morning shooting in Rio Claro.
PC Ramkissoon was proceeding along the Naparima / Mayaro Road on his way to work early Thursday morning when he slowed down in traffic.
A gunman reportedly opened fire on a vehicle that was driving in front of Ramkissoon and one of the bullets struck Ramkissoon.
Ramkissoon, who was attached to the Ste Madeliene Police Station, suffered a single gunshot wound to his shoulder and is resting at the San Fernando General Hospital.
Police say Ramkissoon was not the intended target and was struck by a stray bullet.
The other man, who is yet to be identified, was also shot and is said to be in a critical condition at the hospital.
