JTUM Stands In Solidarity With Teachers Refusing Four Percent Wage Offer

The Joint Trade Union Movement is standing in solidarity with teachers on their position not to accept the four percent wage offer by the Chief Personnel Officer at the bargaining table.

One trade union, Amalgamated Workers Union, has already accepted the four percent wage offer.

Recently, the Industrial Court blocked the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association from engaging in its planned day of rest and reflection on Monday, September 26, Budget Day.

Speaking at a news briefing Wednesday morning , President General of the Oilfields Workers Trade Union, Ancil Roget, claimed there is a  frontal attack on the labour movement especially when workers stand up for their rights.

Mr Roget said JTUM must rally behind the union in their push for improved compensation during negotiations with the C.P.O.
