Gary Griffith Welcomes High Court Ruling On FUL Matter

Former Police Commissioner, Gary Griffith, says Tuesday’s ruling by the High Court reconfirms his commitment to the on-going fight against what he describes as ‘democratic dictatorship’.

In the ruling, a High Court judge granted an injunction to Mr Griffith  restraining the Prime Minister from laying an executive summary or any part of the said Firearm Users License audit report before the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago or otherwise publishing any portion of the contents of same”.

Via a media release on Tuesday, Mr Griffith said this is one in a number of branch matters that continue to expose the very use and abuse of our public institutions, for political purposes.

Mr Griffith said it must be noted as a matter of comfort, that the country’s  judicial system remains an avenue for redress, and remedy, when it can be construed that many other supposedly independent bodies in the Nation appear to be penetrable to political influence.
