The UNC’s Dr Fuad Khan says that unless Kamla Persad Bissessar calls members of the old guard there is no chance of success at the upcoming Local Government Elections.
Speaking to News Power Now this morning Dr Khan said that while the UNC’s accommodation with Gary Griffith’s NTA and Jack Warner is a novel concept it is doomed to fail.
He believes that the first step in ensuring success is to call Mickela and her father Basdeo Panday to join the fold.
Khan, who unsuccessfully challenged Persad-Bissessar for UNC’s leadership during the Party’s internal elections, said that while there have been calls for her to step down as Leader, he feels that she could stay a bit longer with some success in the position.
He said however that this will only happen if she actively seeks the help of the Panday’s.
He believes she has about two more years to serve in her present position after that she could set her sights on another position.
