Former Barataria/San Juan MP Dr Fuad Khan said he is not supporting either Kamla Persad-Bissessar, or Vasant Bharath in the upcoming UNC internal elections.
But he believes that the two can co-exist as UNC leaders.
In a recent interview, he suggested to members that they “consider leaving Mrs Persad-Bissessar to run the Parliament and get somebody else to run the party.”
This way Persad-Bissessar and Bharath both win and co-exist as UNC leaders inside and outside of Parliament respectively.
However, he warned that this idea of his will only have problems if the persons’ egos are not looking at the development of a party or a structure.
He warned that the UNC will continue to run second to the PNM, unless this happens.
