Tragedy struck in Princes Town this morning, when an early couple perished in a fire.
The fire at the St Julian’s Road, Princes Town home of Doodoman Sankar, 79, and his wife Ramdaye Sankar, 84, began sometime around 7:30am.
The couple were inside the house when the blaze began. However, there was no water to extinguish the blaze.
A GML report stated that besides no water in the area, the firefighters who were called had to turn back, due to the multiple land slips on the road.
