A fire took place at the Elections and Boundaries Commission Registration Area Office for Princes Town.
Reports state that the fire affected the upper level of the building.
The EBC assures the public all registration documents remain intact.
There was no damage to any records due to this fire.
The building is located at 145 High Street, Princes Town (Corner Naparima Mayaro Road & St Croix Rd.).
EBC says the office was closed Tuesday.
The office will remain closed whilst the necessary preparations are made to ensure the safety of both EBC staff and the public.
EBC apologised for any inconvenience this temporary closure will cause.
However, the Commission reiterates this closure is in the interest of public health and safety.
