EMA Probe Into Alleged Disposal Of Toxic Waste By A Chemical Plant In Barrackpore To Take One Month.

The Environmental Management Authority has received complaint of alleged disposal of toxic waste by a chemical plant in the Barrackpore community.

Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, wanted to know from the Minister of Planning and Development in the Senate Friday afternoon the effect of said waste on residents and whether the EMA has launched an investigation into this matter.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Planning and Development, Leader of Government Business, Clarence Rambharat, said a site visit was conducted on September 10th 2021.

Mr Rambharat said the EMA was accompanied by the representatives from the County Medical Officer Of Health for the county Victoria.
