Elderly woman robbed outside Massy Stores, Woodbrook

Police are searching for two gunmen who robbed a 72-year-old woman of cash and valuables on Tuesday afternoon as she exited the Woodbrook branch of Massy Stores.

The woman, who lives at Robert Street, had just finished making her groceries at the Kitchener and French Streets location around 2.35 pm on August 8th, when she was accosted by two men in the carpark.

One of the suspects was armed with a gun, which he pointed at her and demanded she hand over her handbag.

The pensioner surrendered her bag valued at US $25; which contained one Samsung A51 cell-phone valued at TT $2,500; one Digital Laser Measuring Device; and her wallet in which her TTARP card, her Massy-membership card, an RBC credit card, a Scotia Bank debit card, along with other business cards were kept.

There was also $700 in cash and other personal belongings in the bag.

The men then escaped in a waiting car that had been parked alongside her car.
