Eighty Illegal Firearms Recovered by North Eastern Division Police In 2021

Eighty illegal firearms have been recovered by police officers in the North Eastern Division in 2021.

So far for 2022 ten illegal firearms have been found by law enforcement.

Head of the North Eastern Division, Acting Senior Superintendent of Police, Winston Maharaj, made the revelation while speaking at the weekly news briefing of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service on Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Maharaj said officers have been able to make a breakthrough with respect to the larceny of vehicles in the division.

Senior Superintendent Maharaj said the discovery of illegal weapons is a significant development as the fight against crime continues.
