Since March 2020 to present over sixty-three thousand lap tops have been distributed to students and teachers by the Ministry of Education.
Twenty thousand of the devices were distributed to those in greatest need according to the means test in academic year 2020 to 2022 to students and teachers in 578 in government and government assisted schools in Trinidad.
An additional seven thousand lap tops were procured.
This information was disclosed by acting Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Paula Gopee Scoon, who was asked if the government plans to get more lap tops for students at both primary and secondary level.
Minister Gopee Scoon said that matter is always before the Minister of Education and is always one under review.
