EBC gets overwhelming response to first day for ‘walk-in’ ID renewals

There was an overwhelming response to the Elections and Boundaries Commission’s ‘walk-in’ service to renew expired national ID cards.

The first of the ‘walk-ins’ took place yesterday (Sunday) at all EBC Registration Area Offices and Registration Area Sub-offices.

The EBC says this ‘walk-in’ renewal service is specifically for persons 60 years and over, and will continue for the next 11 Sundays, until March 28th.

Senior citizens also have the option to call and make an appointment from Mondays to Saturdays, where hours of operation have been extended.

The EBC also reminds that it recently extended the validity of all expired ID cards to June 30th 2021.
