Testing Underway At Niquan Energy Plant Ahead Of Reintroduction Of Natural Gas

Testing is taking place at the Niquan Energy Plant, Pointe-A-Pierre, following an explosion at the facility on April 7th 2021.

This was confirmed by Acting Prime Minister, Colm Imbert, during the question and answer period in the House of Parliament Monday afternoon.

Mr Imbert also assured proper communication will be made with the community upon full start-up of the facility.

It was revealed that on April 14th this year, Niquan was given approval by the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries for the reintroduction of natural gas to the facility.

Approval for commencing entry of processed gas has not yet been granted by the Ministry of Energy.
