Dr Rowley says Police Service Commission’s role does not include the PM

The Police Service Commission has their role and it does not include the PM.

Dr Keith Rowley made the comment at a media briefing at Whitehall on National Security this morning.

He said, “The constitution puts in the hands of an independent Police Service Commission the power to interview people, to select people and to recommend them to the Parliament in a particular way”.

He also noted; “So it doesn’t matter how much you want the Prime Minister to do or say or how fast you want him to go … that is not within the remit of the Prime Minister”.

He insisted that is in the hands of the independent Police service Commission.
