DOMA Urges City Authorities To Resovle Port of Spain Water Woes

The Downtown Owners and Merchants Association claims for the past 10 weeks, several key business areas in Port of Spain have been without a water supply.

DOMA says the affected businesses—more than 30 of them—are located on Henry Street north of Queen Street, and Queen Street west of Charlotte Street.

The business group says among these are food outlets that DOMA reports are “spending thousands of dollars per week on water truck supply to keep their establishments open.”

The business lobby says it is going public with the story to alert “the city authorities who are not aware of this lack of water and whose assistance is required to resolve this unsatisfactory state of affairs.”

The Association is advising its member businesses impacted by the water conundrum to make contact with reliable truck borne water suppliers and to prepare for the possibility of a prolonged absence of water.

DOMA says it will continue to request a solution from the Water and Sewage Authority.
