Students’ failure within the Education system is hemorrhaging into the criminal system.
This is the view of Criminologist Ramesh Deosaran who says that the situation is now a volatile and concerning one.
He was responding to the view of another Criminologist who says that students who fail to keep up with the school curriculum exit the education system and get involved in crime.
Randy Seepersad, a guest on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital on Tuesday said that the school curriculum heavily focuses on academic studies, as such when students whose skills lay in different areas do not make the mark they fall into criminality.
However, speaking with News Power Now this morning Deosaran said that the education system is in trouble.
He said that the number of school drop outs is alarming.
