The decomposing body of a man was found in Morvant on Sunday evening.
The discovery comes fours days after residents reported hearing gunshots in their neighbourhood,
Police said residents of Geranium Drive, reported hearing gunshots around 7 pm last Wednesday and saw two men running on the street.
Around midday on Sunday, the residents detected a foul odour coming from the side of the road and notified police.
On arrival, officers found the decomposing body of a man wearing a white hoodie and blue short pants about 35 feet down a precipice at the side of the road.
Investigators also found three spent 40 calibre shells.
