Dams still below required levels despite rainfall

Minister of Public Utilities Robert Le Hunte confirmed that some of the reservoirs at the Water and Sewage Authority (WASA) have been filled.

The levels have increased as a result of the heavy rainfall caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Karen. However, Le Hunte said that the Hollis and Navet dams are still below the required levels. This, despite the “100 million gallons of rainfall” that the dams would have received over the weekend.

He confirmed that more than the country experienced 20% more rainfall than expected.
