Citizens Assured There Will Be No Political Inteference In the Proposed Trinidad And Tobago Revenue Authority.

The population is being assured no politician will be able to dictate the operations and enforcement aspects of the proposed Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority.

The commitment comes from Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert.

Minister Imbert led off debate in the Senate Tuesday on the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill, 2021.

Mr Imbert during his input to the debate outlined the role of the minister under the proposed TTRA and reiterated the independence of the organization.

Minister Imbert said the time has come for progress on the proposed TTRA which has been in the spotlight for the past eleven years adding the government is ready to make an adjustment to the bill in light of resistance from the Opposition.

Minister Imbert also provided details of legal advice the government got on this subject and the significance of it.
