Chelsea release new kit amid shirt sponsor struggles

Chelsea continues to endure a tumultuous period following last year’s worst ever finish as the club is struggling to find a shirt sponsor.

As a result, the club has released its home kit for next season but without any sponsor on the front of the shirt.

A shirt deal with telecommunications company Three was not renewed when it expired at the end of last season.

The Premier League then blocked a deal with streaming service Paramount Plus, because of concerns about upsetting its broadcast rights holders.

Chelsea also decided against a shirt sponsorship agreement with an online gambling company as club supporter groups are said to be against any such collaboration.

The retro looking kit pays homage to the nineties with an iridescent  gold badge and Nike tick and the club’s social media advertising it with the tagline “It’s a nineties thing”.
