The Member of Parliament for Chaguanas West, Dinesh Rambally, is lamenting the death of what he describes as the traditional “Trini Christmas”, this year, due to the economic hardship being faced by the population.
On Monday, Mr Rambally said the middle and lower class in society will have to do without popular delicacies as families will be focused mainly on providing the basic items on their kitchen tables.
MP Rambally was at the time engaged in a Christmas hamper distribution drive at the Chaguanas West Constituency Office on Monroe Road, Cunupia.
Addressing the predicament of rising food prices, MP Rambally said many families are being hard-pressed to provide their families with the usual Christmas fare.
