All Police Officers On Leave To Be Called Out For Carnival

All police officers on leave are being called out to help strengthen the manpower available to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service in the build up to carnival this year.

This was made known by Senior Superintendent of the Northern Division, North, Kerwin Francis, at a Joint Select Committee meeting on National Security held on Wednesday.

The meeting was held to gain an understanding of the anti-crime strategies implemented by the TTPS to address criminal activity in Trinidad and Tobago.

Mr Francis revealed a wide range of various security steps which will be put in place before the two days of festivities.

Among them, working closely with the Strategic Services Agency, the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and the Municipal Police.

Mr Francis said the measures will be short, medium and long term.

On February 27th the Commissioner of Police is expected to be present at the next scheduled JSC meeting.
