Body of Mayaro teen who drowned at sea recovered

The body of 18-year-old Tyrese Singh, who disappeared in the waters of a Mayaro beach, has been recovered.

The teen’s body was recovered by a resident and the Mayaro Police at about 8.30pm on Monday night.
Assistance was also provided by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team.

Police were told that the Mayaro/Manzanilla teenager, who is an upper six student of the Rio Claro West Secondary School, was swimming with two of his female relatives in the waters off Mahanna Drive off Manzanilla Road on Sunday, when at about 5pm they got into difficulties.

Lifeguards managed to rescue the women.
However, they were unable to locate the 18-year-old at the time.

Meanwhile, the search still continues for the body of 9-year old Omarie Providence, who disappeared while bathing at Mission Beach, Toco during a family outing on Sunday.
