Commenting on the appointment of Mr Smith Former Trade Minister Vasant Bharath said the move was ill advised, saying that he did not have the requisite skill set for the job.
Speaking with News Power Now this morning, Mr Bharath said Mr Smith’s firing in 2018 for wrong doing should have been a good indication that he was not a good candidate for such an important position.
He disclosed that Mr Smith’s appointment is evidence that the standards in Trinidad and Tobago are being lowered considerably.
Bharath stated that the Government was making decisions that were generally inimical to how the country looks on an international basis.
The Former Trade Minister said that while he had nothing against Mr Smith personally he did not believe that he had the proper skill set to effectively act in his new post.
