Two women are today thanking their lucky stars, following an attempted kidnapping and robbery in Port of Spain on Wednesday.
The victims told police that around 5:30pm yesterday, they were walking along the pavement on Wrightson Road, when upon reaching near National Flour Mills, a vehicle pulled alongside them and two men exited.
The suspects announced a hold-up and begun pulling the women into the car.
However the women fought back and managed to escape, running away screaming.
The police were notified by eyewitnesses and officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force responded. After receiving key intelligence, the officers went to Laventille Road, where they intercepted a vehicle with occupants who fit the descriptions.
The two men, along with the driver, are now in police custody.
