Archbishop Gordon: TT leaders need to grow up and be responsible during this pandemic

Roman Catholic Archbishop, Jason Gordon, says the leaders in Trinidad and Tobago need to show by example how the population can and should grow up and be responsible during this pandemic.

Archbishop Gordon told the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital that this pandemic is a major threat to the country’s survival, akin to the threat of racism in 1970 and the ideological threat in 1990. This time the enemy is a microbe called Covid 19.

He said the leaders in the country need to ask themselves if what they say and do are in the best interest of getting every citizen on board to get us through this crisis. He said the leaders need to demonstrate what maturity and responsibility looks like:

Archbishop also said that they have not been communicating effectively with all sectors in society. He said “We have to start communicating to specific groups who have different circumstances and situations.”

He said the country needs a consistent, effective vaccination campaign where all leaders are sending the same message:
