APT James and Buccoo Reef to be drydocked

Two of the major vessels used to facilitate the domestic sea-bridge are being drydocked.

The Trinidad and Tobago Inter-Island Transportation Company (TTIT) announced via a release that the APT James will be withdrawn from service from today January 24th, until February 7th, 2024. It says further that the Buccoo Reef will also be withdrawn from service from February 7th to 21st, 2024.

The TTIT assures however that notwithstanding these works, the inter-island sea bridge will be serviced at all times by three vessels- either the APT James/Buccoo Reef, the Galleons Passage and the Cabo Star. It says in relation to the arrangements made, additional sailings as required during the Carnival period will be facilitated.

The release noted that ticket sales and vessel scheduling have been issued accordingly.

TTIT says the works have become necessary at this time to ensure a safe and reliable service, as well as to maintain class certifications.

It says any further changes would be duly communicated as required.
